BJP leadership Delhi

As the Delhi Assembly elections approach, political leaders have intensified their campaigning to secure crucial votes. On January 29, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Ghonda, Northeast Delhi, appealing to the people of Delhi to give the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a chance to lead the city. Modi assured that the BJP would uphold its promises to the people and bring about positive change for Delhi’s future.

The rally, which took place in the Ghonda constituency, saw a significant turnout, especially from the area’s diverse population, including Haryanvis, Jats, Purvanchalis, and Uttarakhandis. This constituency is one of the eight seats BJP won in the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, and Modi’s address seemed geared towards ensuring that they retain their position in the upcoming polls.

PM Modi’s Appeal to Delhi Voters
During the rally, Modi urged Delhi residents to give the BJP a chance to serve, emphasizing that it was “Congress’s ‘AAPda’ for the last 25 years” and that now it was time for a change. The BJP, he said, would not only make promises but would also ensure that those promises were fulfilled within a time-bound manner. He addressed Delhi’s long-standing issues of water, electricity, and infrastructure, stressing that under BJP rule, these issues would be effectively managed.

Targeting AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal
In his address, Modi also took aim at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s recent allegations against Haryana regarding the contamination of Delhi’s water supply. Kejriwal had claimed that Haryana was “poisoning” the water supplied to Delhi, a statement that sparked a strong reaction from various quarters. Modi, in his response, called this an attempt by Kejriwal to divert attention from the real issues facing the Capital.

Modi emphasized that Kejriwal’s claims were not only baseless but an effort to mislead the people of Delhi in the run-up to the elections. He stressed the importance of addressing critical issues such as education, healthcare, and public safety, areas where the BJP claimed they had made substantial progress in Delhi.

Countdown to Delhi Assembly Elections
The Delhi Assembly elections, scheduled for February 5, 2025, are a high-stakes contest between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the BJP. With BJP seeking to expand its presence in Delhi and AAP fighting to retain its ground, the next few days will be critical in determining the fate of the city.

In his campaign, Modi highlighted the BJP’s achievements in various sectors and assured voters that the party would continue to prioritize their needs. As Delhi’s voters head to the polls, they will have to decide whether to continue with AAP’s governance or give the BJP a chance to lead the city.
